
Veronica Cretu is an independent expert in AI policy, open government and digital transformation with more than twenty-five years of experience supporting public sector innovation around the world. As a Council Member of The AI Values Institute, she contributes expertise in public policy, democratic governance and digital transformation, helping inform the Institute's work on inclusive and sustainable AI value.
She works with the Council of Europe and has advised governments, international organisations and civil society partners across Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Africa and the Western Balkans. Her work focuses on AI for government, e-governance, transparency, citizen participation and gender equality.
Veronica is an Open Government Partnership Envoy and previously served on the Council of Europe's ad hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence. Her contributions to public sector innovation and digital governance provide valuable perspectives on how AI can strengthen accountable, inclusive and citizen-centred institutions.
