Markus Krebsz

Founding Council Member, The AI Values Institute

Professor Markus Krebsz is an Honorary Professor at the University of Stirling, Founding Director of The Human AI Institute, and a government and board adviser specialising in AI governance and enterprise risk. As a Council Member of The AI Values Institute, he contributes expertise in AI risk, regulatory governance and institutional resilience, helping shape the Institute's work on sustainable AI value and responsible AI oversight.

With more than thirty years of experience in global financial markets and over twenty years specialising in risk, Markus advises financial institutions, governments, regulators and international development organisations on AI governance, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management.

He leads the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Working Party 6 AI project and developed Enterprise-wide AI Risk Management (EW-AiRM), an approach for identifying and managing AI-related risks across organisations. His work strengthens the Institute's focus on governance systems that support trustworthy, scalable and resilient AI adoption.
