Professor Julie Wall is Professor of AI and Advanced Computing at the University of West London and an expert member of the British Standards Institution. As a Founding Council Member of The AI Values Institute, she contributes expertise in artificial intelligence research, technical standards and emerging technologies, helping inform the Institute's work on trustworthy, evidence-based and sustainable AI value.
Her research focuses on intelligent systems that process and model temporal data, with particular expertise in speech and language technologies. She has extensive experience in neural networks, machine learning and deep learning, applying these technologies across audio, image, video, immersive virtual and augmented reality environments, and natural language understanding.
Professor Wall has authored more than 50 academic publications and holds patents granted in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Her academic research and standards expertise provide valuable perspectives on the technical foundations that underpin responsible AI innovation and long-term AI value creation.
